Escape Plan: 3-Movie Collection - Blu-ray vs. DVD Comparison Review

Image

A few years ago, Lionsgate released the Escape Plan: 3-Movie Collection on Blu-ray and DVD, which collects the three films starring Sylvester Stallone. I blindly purchased each of them from the same Walmart store a few months apart. The DVD was purchased first for $5.00, and the Blu-ray a few months later for $7.50. Both came with a shiny slipcover. Since there were no reviews of either online, that I could find, I did not have the information beforehand to know more about them. Since I now have both releases, I thought I would write a quick comparison review so everyone would have the information that I didn't. Read on to find out more...

Up All Night: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review

Image

Mill Creek Entertainment recently released the Up All Night: The Complete Series (2011-2012) Blu-ray. No, this is not the Rhonda Shear/Gilbert Gottfried late night movie series that aired on the USA Network from 1989 to 1998, though I think Universal owns that, too. Maybe they'll license that to Mill Creek in the future. Anyway, Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph, and Will Arnett star in this smart, irreverent comedy about adjusting to life with a newborn. Botchamania #450

Image

Botchamania is my favorite wrestling comedy series, which I've written about many times already. The series spotlights goofs (aka "botches") in wrestling programs. In the latest episode, Botchamania #450, two botches that I spotted were used. Read on to find out more...

Side Out Blu-Ray Review (Retro VHS Style)

Image

Side Out (1990) arrives on Blu-ray as part of Mill Creek Entertainment's Retro VHS Style series, with packaging designed to look like the VHS videocassettes of the 1980s and 1990s. Several other titles in the series have already been reviewed on The Corner Penthouse, and I'm always excited when Mill Creek announces more. It's fun to see if it's a title I used to own on VHS, or one whose trailer I remember seeing at the start of some other VHS tape, or even some obscure movie I've never heard of before.
