Ghostbusters 1 & 2 DVD Limited Edition Gift Set

On October 6, 2009, the complete Ghostbusters 1& 2 2005 Double Feature Gift Set (two DVDs plus movie scrapbook) was repackaged as the "Ghostbusters 1 & 2 Limited Edition Gift Set", this time bundled with a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man statue, a set of six trading cards, a small tub of slime, and a $25 Sideshow Collectibles gift card. Below are some details about this box set. Details about the original Double Feature Gift Set, including scans of the packaging, movie scrapbook, and two movie DVDs, can be found on the Ghostbusters 2005 DVD page. It should be noted that this box set was originally slated for an October 2008 release, but that got pushed back a year for some unknown reason. This is why all of the copyright data on every item in the box (except for the DVD set) says "2008".

PACKAGING
Everything is contained inside a box measuring approximately 6.5" x 8.5" x 5.75", which features the green slime motif of the 2005 DVD set. You can view a few unboxing shots here.

STAY PUFT MARSHMALLOW MAN STATUE
Produced by Sideshow Collectibles, the big guy stands on base that is approximately 3" x 3" and is approximately 6.5" in height from the bottom of the base to the top of his hat. He weighs exactly 1 pound and is made out of some sort of plaster resin (I don't know what it's called, but it's the type of material these things are usually made out of).

TRADING CARDS
The set of six cards are the standard 3.5" x 2.5" horizontal size, and are printed on good cardstock with a glossy finish on both sides. They're numbered by "case number", which is the order the ghosts are seen in the film. The last card of the Ghostbusters Team is unnumbered, but it could be considered card #6 (it would have been nice if they didn't put the part number on the front of this card). Overall, a very nice little set, which makes you wish that someone would put out a full set of Ghostbusters movie cards. The 25th anniverary would have been a great time to put out a set, and maybe a Ghostbusters movie adaptation comic book, too. This is now the second official mini-set of Ghostbusters cards ever made. The first is a few cards and a sticker that were part of Topps' "Fright Flicks" horror/humor set in 1988. Only Ghostbusters II got a full card set and a comic book adaptation.

TUB OF SLIME
A small tub of slime measuring approximately 2.5" in diameter and approximate 1.25" in height. I can't tell you anything about the consistency because I've kept the plastic seal on my tub and I don't plan on opening it.

SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES GIFT CARD
A $25 gift card for use on select items on the Sideshow Collectibles website. Interestingly, the box set was released on October 6, 2009 and the card expires a little under three months later on December 31, 2009. I think these cards were produced for the original October 2008 release, which would have given buyers more time to use them. Imagine if Sony would have released this set in 2010, after the cards expired. Anyway, the gift card is not as good of a deal as it seems. You can't buy any item on the site with the card; you're limited to a small selection of items. Of those items, most are well over $25. Also, the gift card will not cover shipping, only the item price.
