Even though Ghostbusters originated here in America, the first Ghostbusters comic was actually published across the pond.  Marvel UK had acquired the international publishing rights to the Real Ghostbusters.  This type of comic was unusual for Marvel and so they hired a staff just for that title.
Each bi-weekly issue was set up much like NOW's Slimer! series.  They had two or three strips, a prose story (two as it progressed), a character biography and even Slimer got his own little strip on the back cover called "Blimey!  It's Slimer!"  The exact number of comics produced is still a matter of guesswork in the Ghosthead community, a fact attributed to the fragile materials used in making the comics resulting in many of them being destroyed.
