Fun Facts
  • The script for this episode can be found on The Real Ghostbusters Scripts page.
  • Title Reference: "Adventures in Time and Space" was an anthology of science fiction stories edited by Raymond J. Healy and J. Francis McComas and published in 1946. The large (997 page) anthology collected numerous stories from the Golden Age of Science Fiction, which had originally appeared in pulp magazines (mostly Astounding Science Fiction) and are now regarded as classics of science fiction.
  • The voice actors were recorded on August 4, 1986.
  • George and Martha are the names of the elderly couple seen commentating on the happenings. George always refers to her by the shorthand nickname "Mar", and never by her full name, which is only revealed in the call sheet. It is likely that this is supposed to be George and Martha Wilson from DIC's Dennis The Menace cartoon, even though they are visually different for copyright reasons. George was voiced by Phil Hartman in Season 1 and Maurice LaMarche in Season 2, while Martha was voiced by Marilyn Lightstone and Louise Vallance. Maurice provides George's voice here.
  • The Three Stooges make a cameo appearance in this episode.
  • The Banana 9000 computer says, "Ray. Stop. Stop, Ray. I can feel it." This is a reference to what the HAL 9000 computer said in the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey."
  • Slimer atop the Empire State Building while the Ghostbusters battle him in helicopters mimics the ending of King Kong (1933). Peter even references the movie when he says that "that'll keep the gorilla off", and then remarks, "Where's Fay Wray now that we need her?" Faye Wray played the heroine whom Kong kidnaps in King Kong.
