Fun Facts
  • The script for this episode can be found on The Real Ghostbusters Scripts page.
  • Title Reference: There have been several notable movies to use "Attack of the..." in their titles. "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" is a 1958 low-budget film starring Allison Hayes as the titular woman. "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" is a 1977 film directed and co-written by John DeBello and starring David Miller. A "B movie" is a low-budget commercial motion picture that is not definitively an arthouse. In its original usage, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified a film intended for distribution as the less-publicized, bottom half of a double feature.
  • The voice actors were recorded on May 6, 1991.
  • There are two slightly different versions of this episode, and both were originally shown on ABC. The difference occurs right after the Ghostbusters turn on the air raid siren and Ray says, "OK, Lizardo. Come to mama." In one version, the scene plays like this: Lizardo hears the air raid siren and looks at the tower. There's a shot of the tower and some surrounding buildings. The next shot has Lizardo jumping, in full frame. Then we see Winston (who says, "Man, check out the moves") and Peter (who says "And they said disco was dead") in a two-shot (with thuds heard in the background). The next shot has Lizardo again jumping, in full frame, then advancing toward the tower. In the other version, the scene plays like this: Lizardo hears the air raid siren and looks at the tower. There's a shot of the tower and some surrounding buildings. The next shot has Lizardo, blocked by a bridge, grooving to the siren. Then we see Winston (who says, "Man, check out the moves") and Peter (who says "And they said disco was dead") in a two-shot (with thuds heard in the background). The next shot has Lizardo, again blocked by a bridge, grooving to the siren then advancing toward the tower. For more information and multimedia, see the Alternate Episodes page.
  • The Ghostbusters' spiky hair pays homage to the anime look.
