Amstrad CPC Version

What a change! I never played this version before! What? You don't believe me? Damn, trust me , I tell you. I've *seen* CPCs all my childhood but never played with them So, what's the deal with this version

Ghostbusters CPC Busting sequence (4K)Ghostbusters CPC Map Screen (5K)

This version is mostly a clone of the C64 in fact the system are very similar at least they have in common the programming language : the BASIC. That's why the 2 version are nearly identical : they have just make some variation at the source code to let it work on a Amstrad CPC . However "nearly identical" does not means "the same" there are some little (but little differences) The one which you cannot detect from the pics are the sounds which are damn lot scratchy ( crush crush ...OK?) The CPC tried to repeat the C64 sound but the results is not exemplary. And the music is , of course, different to the the different Sound chip. You gonna tell me that I'm under contract with Commodore but there again I prefer the C64; Although the CPC music is still good

Ghostbusters CPC Ecto-1 Sequence (2K)The other little difference are the GFX .The resolution of the CPC is greater the the C64 therefore graphics appears to be a little more clean. This is not always true but sometime visible as in the ECTO-1 sequence where the 1963 Hearse has more details than in the Commodore Computer. The GFX are also brighter which , in my opinion as stated in the C64 GB1 review decrease the overall game-feeling. Also remember that the C64 as the best rendered Proton Streams!
Now what? Well, if you are an owner of an Amstrad CPC or a GB Videogames collector as I am grab this game but I suggest you the download the Commodore 64 version instead which is finally better ...And as a better emulation scene
